The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, on Saturday 21st January, 2023, attended Awka Diocesan Catholic Women Organization (CWO) leadership training for newly elected officials of the organization at Cana House, Awka.
The Senator, who attended the training to encourage the women to continue extending their support to societal building and agent of peace and stability in the society.
Speaking at the event, Ekwunife declared that women are agents of peace, adding that she has built and furnished 32 houses for women to support the crusade for women empowerment. She further noted that anywhere she sees women, she appreciates their efforts because women deserve encouragement especially in societies like Africa.
The Federal Lawmaker maintained that CWO is the strongest organization in the world and stated that she is proud to be a member of the organization, promising to continue supporting women because they are a rare breed in the society.
Speaking further, Ekwunife added that she is a Lawmaker who is proud to identify with the CWO. She noted that she attends meetings at Church of Assumption Catholic Church Asokoro, Abuja. While urging the women to support their fellow woman, she stressed that the best thing to do to a woman who is doing well is to encourage her and urged the CWO to support their fellow woman in the February 25th general elections.
The Leader of the organization, Lady Ngozi S. Ndigwe, thanked the Lawmaker for honouring their invitation, adding that Ekwunife is a committed CWO member who has been paying rapt attention to issues of the organization.
She extolled Ekwunife for her effective representation. While praying for the Lawmaker’s victory in the general election, Lady Ndigwe appealed to the women to support the performing Lawmaker.
