The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has urged unity amongst Africans. She also urged Nigerians in the Diaspora with Dual Citizenship to keep in touch with home, and always be proud of their Nigerian citizenship.

Dabiri-Erewa stated this when she received Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidinma Onwe Adetshina, at NiDCOM’s Office in Lagos.

The NiDCOM Boss stated that Chidinma’s resilience, given the circumstances surrounding her emergence as Miss Universe Nigeria, is admirable and represents the creative energies and resoluteness of Nigerians all over.

“If you have dual citizenship, don’t take the second one for granted. Nigeria has been there in this trying moment for you but I am glad you are home”.

Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidinma Onwe Adetshina, visibly impressed with the hospitality and warmth accorded her, thanked the Chairman/CEO, (NiDCOM), and has this to say,

“I am so honoured to be sitting in front of you and thank you for this beautiful reception.”

She continued, “I wear this crown with immense pride and I am committed to making Nigeria proud.”

Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidinma Onwe Adetshina, is to represent Nigeria at the Miss World 2024 in Mexico later in the year.

Also present was Mr. Guy Murray-Bruce, organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria beauty pageant, who said they were glad to have offered Chidinma the platform to contest. Later at a reception, Musical legend, D’Banj also commended Chidinma’s resilience and determination, and entertained the crowd with a special performance for her.
