District Governor, AU Nnonyelu & President Chika Ibeneme Lead Rotarians On Courtesy Visit To Vice Chancellor Of COOU

In the early hours of Thursday 4th April, 2024, the Irresistible District Governor AU Nnonyelu and the President of the Rotary Club of Awka, Chika Ibeneme (Odaa Opuo), led a delegation of Rotarians and Rotary Leaders on a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, fnipr.
The visit was timely as the Rotary Club of Igbariam Gateway plans to revamp the activities of Rotary International in the University Community.
Speaking at the event, the Irresistible District Governor AU Nnonyelu commended Mr. Governor, H.E Charles Soludo, on the choice of Prof Kate as VC of COOU while emphasizing that Prof Kate Omenugha as known to him, will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the uplifting of COOU in the Education Sector.
He further appealed to the Vice Chancellor and the principal officers to ensure that the Spirit of Rotary does not die in COOU as well as using the platform to specially invite the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Kate, to his Installation as the 8th District Governor of Rotary District 9142 come July 27th 2024.
In appreciation for the visit, the Acting Vice Chancellor took time to eulogize the Incoming District Governor AU Nnonyelu as a go-getter and one of the best Professors/Dean ever produced in Nnamdi Azikiwe University. She pledged her full support to the growth of Rotary in COOU, stressing that under her watch, she will ensure that COOU gains more visibility across the globe; while promising to make another donation to the Rotary Foundation in order to step up her Paul Harris Fellow Points/Star.
President-Elect of RC Igbariam Gateway, Prof Njideka Ebisi, on behalf of all Rotarians, gave the vote of thanks and promised to work with the Acting Vice Chancellor to ensure COOU is seen, heard and felt in Rotary.
Concluding the visit, the Irresistible District Governor AU Nnonyelu decorated the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Kate Omenugha, with the theme pin and all proceeded for a group photograph respectively.
