If evil does not take specialized colouration in this contraption called Nigeria, we wouldn’t have it repeat in recognizable dimensions every time from similar quarters.
Ashec and Upper Class are victims of Nigerian style leadership. One that is devoid of empathy. One with weak institutions but very strong individuals. In fact, it is ruthless illegality that wins one administrative astuteness in the typical Nigerian calculation.
Peter and El Rufai have a lot in common.
They are both crafty, religious and callously ethnic. They appeal in the most unusual way to a mass of unthinking followers who believe in Executive recklessness as long as it can be compensated for in other ways that satisfies ethnic, religious or political sentiments.
Great Leaders, if you may. But, devoid of empathy and hasty in vendetta.
If Obi had been brought to justice before now, we may not have experienced El Rufai in this most cruel form. And until we set the records straight with this two Executive Law Breakers, we may continue to witness this extra judicial destructions in greater proportions.
Tomorrow, El-Rufai will seek public reward for being a “good” Governor. After all, Obi is now a god and “Nobody is perfect”.
