A domestic staff, identified as Daniel, allegedly strangled his boss, Obi Nwanah, dumped his corpse inside water well and escaped with his imported vehicle in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Owo-Odun Street, last bus stop in Ijegun area of Lagos State, where the late Obi Nwana built a house and resided with Daniel.

It was gathered that the deceased stayed abroad for several years and decided to return to Nigeria to settle down. However, his family was still living abroad while he came back and started selling vehicles in Lagos.

The late Obi was said to have imported vehicles, which he intended to sell, before his domestic staff, Daniel, conceived the evil intention to kill him and take away the vehicles. He was said to have strangled him at night, carried the corpse and threw him inside water well.

The next morning, he reportedly drove out one of the vehicles, a Toyota Camry, to sell. For easy escape, he drove against traffic until he got to Iyana Iba. Police operatives at that part of town suspected his driving and flagged him down. He was asked him to produce the vehicle papers but he could not and he was apprehended. It was then that he confessed that the car did not belong to him and that he was a domestic staff. He was detained at the Police Station for interrogation.

During interrogation, the Police found out that he was inconsistent with his statements. The Police investigated further and discovered that he had killed the owner of the Toyota car, dumped the corpse inside water well and was escaping before he ran out of luck.

Daniel was transferred to the Police detectives at Alagbon for further investigation and he reportedly confessed to have committed the crime.
The Police at Isheri Oshun Division were contacted; they recovered the corpse from the water well and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy report.

When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited the area, some of the residents expressed shock over the matter and hinted that the Police have visited the scene to remove the corpse.
The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, could not be reached as his phone was not available as at the time of filing this report.
