The Director of the dissolved APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Diaspora Directorate, Prince Ade Omole, has charged Nigerians not to be distracted by the fact that the opposition is challenging APC’s electoral victory in Court.
He gave the charge on Monday in Abuja while receiving on behalf of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the President-elect, a mansion in Guzape District.
The property was donated to accommodate Nigerians in the Diaspora that would be traveling back to the country to witness the inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the country’s 16th democratically elected President on 29th May, 2023.
Prince Omole said though the opposition was currently in Court protesting Tinubu’s victory and emergence as President-elect, it was just a norm because they had to ventilate their perceived grievance somewhere.
He assured that the APC had competent legal team to prove that Tinubu won the election squarely, adding that the party would win again in Court.
“There is nothing to worry about the opposition being in Court to challenge our mandate. This is because aggrieved opposition politicians have to ventilate their loss and frustration somewhere and the Court is there for them to do that lawfully,” Omole said.
He said Tinubu’s emergence as President-elect in the February 25, Presidential election was divinely ordained, especially when one considers what transpired ahead of the party’s victory.
“The cash crunch and fuel scarcity ahead of the election were all obstacles on his way, yet he emerged as President-elect.”
“So many things were frustrating our efforts ahead of the election, but we overcame the challenges because God is on our side and we comfortably won the election,” Omole said.
He noted that most Nigerians knew Tinubu’s antecedents and track record when he was Governor of Lagos State for two-terms, adding that Nigerians should expect more from him as President.
He assured that if Tinubu as Lagos State Governor could reclaim the bar beach and turned it into today’s Eko Atlantic City, he could work out ways to address the flooding issues in Bayelsa and other parts of the country.
Omole while appreciating the donor of the mansion, promised that it would be used as expected but would be given out on first request basis.
Dr Adekunle Ahmed, the donor of the building, said the gesture was to support the Presidential Inauguration Committee to provide accommodation to some persons. He added that the essence was to ensure a comfortable stay for Nigerians in Diaspora that would be attending the inauguration and to make them spend less, especially on hotel accommodation.
He said it was also to support the incoming government, which Nigerians were expecting to turn around the country for good in the interest of all.
On Omole’s entourage were: Rt Hon Ahmed Muhammed, a former Deputy Speaker Kogi; Ms Oyinkansola Okewoye, National Coordinator, The Asiwaju Group (TAG). Also on the entourage were Alhaji  Abdulrazak Danjuma, National Co-Coordinator, The Asiwaju Group, TAG; Pastor Reuben Wilson, South South, TAG; and Hon Mariam Aberi.
