Pastor Tessy Nwokedi of the Grace and Mercy Restoration Ministry has advised fellow Ministers of God to work towards providing material needs of their members, who are visibly hungry before preaching Salvation as it may amount to waste of time and energy.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as stated by Pastor Nwokedi at Ayinde Street by Fire Bus Stop, Ijegun area of Lagos, where the Church is located.

She stated that she had since realised that there was need to take care of the material needs of members before gospel will be preached for such people to listen, assimilate and accept the imports of the gospel.
This might have informed her church’s moves to embark on several empowerment programmes for their members.
Pastor Nwokedi narrated her experience when she went to preach salvation to an unbeliever, who told her clearly that he will not listen to her because he was hungry and needed to eat before he would hear any preaching. She said she had to buy him food and after eating he indicated that he was ready to listen to the gospel because there was food in his stomach.
The Minister of God confessed that the encounter passed a strong message to her and she realised that it may amount to a waste of time to ask people in serious material needs to repent and accept salvation.

“We embark on many empowerment projects here in the Church. Those who don’t have money to start businesses, the Church do assist in that regard. The widows and children including orphans are equally provided their needs and they in return show more commitment to things of God” she said.

On her ministry, Pastor Nwokedi said it was a call she heard from God and had even started it when she was in the university. She said she delayed for some time as a married woman due to other obligations before her husband assisted and the ministry was established two months ago.

Speaking with P.M.EXPRESS correspondent, Pastor Tessy said that the vision of the Church goes beyond Church services. The vision of the ministry is said to include the establishment of schools and health care centres, where the less privileged in the society will acquire education and equally access medical treatment for free and she believes strongly that the vision will soon materialize.
She advised both men and women including the youths to be remain committed to the service of God and embrace salvation, which usually guarantees success when God is with any vision.
Pastor Tessy Nwokedi also used the opportunity to talk about the thanksgiving of the Church coming up on 24th November, 2019, which she said friends, members and well wishers will attend and that whatever were realised will be shared to the less privileged in the society.
