Dr. Kiki Omeili Wins Lagos 30 Under 40 Awards

Medical Doctor-turned-actress, Kiki Omeili, has won the Best Female Act (English) at the maiden edition of the Lagos 30 Under 40 Awards.
The Lekki Wives soap actress emerged top among the nominees that comprised of well-established actresses such as Kehinde Bankole, Lilan Esoro, Adesua Etomi, Nse Ekpe Etim and Omoni Oboli.
Lagos 30 Under 40 Awards is a Lagos State initiative organised to celebrate young people who have risen to the top echelon in the entertainment industry,
The winners of the maiden edition were announced via the organisers Instagram page on Wednesday.
The initial award presentation ceremony was scheduled to be held on Sunday, 9 October at the Bamboo Halls & Spaces, but was cancelled due to logistical reason.
However, in spite of the cancellation, the Head of Communications of Shawttynatt, the organising outfit, Mrs. Adebukola Ogunrinde, said that the award plaque will be presented to the winners individually.
She said, “We encountered a major setback from our sponsors at the last minute. And we didn’t want to hold a below-the-standard event. That was why we cancelled it. However, the award plaque will be presented to the winners at our office. And we hope that the next edition will be well celebrated”.
Other winners are OC Ukeje, Best Male Act (English), Lateef Adedimeji, Best Actor (Yoruba), Yewande Adekoya, Best Actress (Yoruba), Nancy Isime, New Face of Nollywood.
Also considered worthy of the awards plaque were Ushbebe, Comedian of the year; Pretty Mike, Entrepreneur of the year; Soft Olowo Eko, Personality of the year;  Mercy Aigbe Gentry, Style Person 2016; Sobo Soberekon, Entertainment Personality 2016; Kiss Daniel, Best Act – Male 2016; Seyi Shay, Best Act – Female 2016; Lagos Calendar Event, One Lagos Fiesta;  Aje Films, Music Video Director of The Year; and Olamide,  International Music Act (Straight Outta Lagos).
