The Director-General/Chief Executive Officer, Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, received in audience the Director-General/CEO of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC), Dr. Nkiruka Madueke, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting provided an avenue for both Heads of government agencies to discuss strategic collaborations and synergy towards addressing Nigeria’s energy and climate change challenges.
Their discussion was focused on the importance of inter-agency cooperation in driving the country’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
Highlighting the Commission’s commitment to promoting renewable energy sources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the Energy boss expressed his readiness and willingness to work with every critical stakeholder in advancing the mandate of the Commission.
Speaking further, Dr. Abdullahi also commended the NCCC’s efforts in coordinating Nigeria’s climate change response in line with the global pledge while equally assuring the NCCC of the Commission’s support for its initiatives.
