The incident happened at the traffic light at Oba Akinjobi Way in Ikeja, Lagos, where Adewale was performing his official duty.
The driver has been arrested and charged for the alleged offence.
The Police alleged that the driver, Yerima, seriously assaulted and injured Adewale while driving the bus with registration number, JJJ 718 YA without neccessary driving particulars thereby committed the alleged offence.
He was arrested and detained at the Ikeja Police Division for interrogation over his alleged conduct. And during interrogation, Yerima told the Police that when the Inspector accosted him, he pleaded with him but he refused before he decided to beat him up.

However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
