It was indeed a nasty experience for a LASTMA officer, one Jimoh Musa, when he attempted to enforce the traffic law on the highway in Lagos by accosting a bus driver.

The incident happened at NNPC Junction in Ejigbo area of Lagos where Musa was on official duty.
The victim, Musa, was said to have accosted the driver, Joseph Nwachukwu, on the road for contravening a traffic offence. The driver and the conductor now at large took him by surprise; they hit him with an iron rod, forced him inside the bus and drove off.
They reportedly threatened to kill him if he raised alarm while they were taking him to an unknown place. The victim had no choice than to plead with them. They were said to later heed to his plea, dropped him off along Military Zone in Ejigbo area of Lagos and drove off.
But by then, he had sustained serious injury over the attack and he went back to the office dejected. He reported what happened to him and the matter was incidented at Ejigbo Police Division. The Police then trailed the driver and eventually arrested him.
After interrogation, he was charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for the alleged offence. He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon, asked the Court for a date for hearing to enable the police to prove the matter.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J.Layeni, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 17th June, 2019.
