A Lagos State Traffic Management Authority officer, Mr. Omotosho Ayodele, had a nasty experience when he was attacked, thrown inside gutter and forced to drink dirty water.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Aguda Bus Stop in Ogba area of Lagos, where Ayodele went to perform his lawful duty.

He was later rescued, but by then he had already drank enough dirty water and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The matter was reported to the Police at Area G Ogba, who trailed the driver, Fabunmi John, arrested and detained him at the Command for investigation.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the victim, attached to LASTMA branch in Ojodu area, went to the place to control traffic when he had altercation with the driver over traffic laws. The disagreement led to physical assault on Ayodele as the driver rained blows on him and threw him into the gutter.
The driver not satisfied, reportedly jumped into the gutter and sat on top him in order to ensure that he drank enough water with his uniform before he was rescued.
The Police found the driver culpable and later charged him before the Ogba Magistrates for assault.

He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing for the police to prove that he actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A Layinka, granted the driver, Fabunmi John, bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 23rd July, 2019.
