The APGA leading Governorship aspirant in the forthcoming Anambra Gubernatorial election, Nze Akachukwu Sullivan Nwankpo, has commended the SouthEast Governors for the ‘Ebube Agu’ Security Network initiative.
In a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday and sent by his Director Media and Publicity, Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili, the former Presidential aide, Nze Nwankpo, said the Governors decision to launch a regional security network codenamed “EBUBEAGU” is a welcome development, as it will address the worsening insecurity in the region.
“We must commend the Governors of the six states of the SouthEast for coming up with this initiative. We believe that “Ebubeagu” will address the issues of kidnapping, terrorists attacks, banditry, armed robberies and help flush out criminal elements that had held the region hostage” Nwankpo said.
The idea of Ebubeagu Security Network was mooted during a Security Summit at Owerri organised by the SouthEast Governors on April 11, 2021, over the rising insecurity in the region.
The Governors in attendance were, Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, Anambra, Willie Obiano, Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Ebonyi, Dave Umahi and the host Governor, Hope Uzodinma.
Also in attendance was the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor, as well as top security chiefs in the Zone.
