All is set for the first edition of the Conference on Ogbunike Culture/Tradition slated to hold on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at the town hall.
The event is themed “Ogbunike Cultural Revival, Challenges and Prospects in a Digital Era”.
It will feature both virtual sessions and the physical event in Ogbunike, to be hosted by the Ogbunike Critical Stakeholders under the auspices of Team Make Ogbunike Great(TMOG).
The Conference provides a platform for Ogbunike stakeholders to network and deepen their commitment to culture policy development, implementation and monitoring through access to knowledge and evidence-based policy making.
The theme aligns with the renewed campaign for the promotion, projection and preservation of Ogbunike Art, Culture and Heritage using digital media as a veritable medium. The epoch making event will showcase stakeholders and experts from traditional religion adherents, academia, and traditional authorities, town union government and others.
Commenting on the forthcoming event, foremost Igbo Culture/Tradition promoter, Dr. Chuma-Odili Harris Udokamma, said, “We look forward to the upcoming deliberations with stakeholders at this important conference. We ought to forge strategies together, for safeguarding our art, culture and heritage to achieve Ogbunike we want”.
“Ogbunike can be proud of its long-standing and rich cultural traditions, and a great way to get to know them is to enjoy them yourself. We have put together a great event to talk about varnishing cultures and find solutions to revive them.”
