The Edo State Government has concluded a comprehensive two-week onboarding programme for newly recruited and absorbed officers into the state’s civil/public service.

Addressing participants during the closing ceremony at the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) in Benin City, the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq., reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing the development and welfare of the state’s civil/public servants.

He said the two-week programme is in furtherance of the government’s efforts to familiarize the workers with the regulations governing public service and equip them with appropriate skills for the 21st-century workplace.

Highlighting the pivotal role civil servants play as the future and conscience of the service, Okungbowa said the “Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration continues to implement reforms aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the service, ensuring it is staffed with qualified professionals and equipped with the necessary tools to deliver optimal service to Edo people.”

According to him, “The programme is a significant milestone in the government’s ongoing journey towards excellence and efficiency in service delivery. We thank Governor Godwin Obaseki for his relentless commitment to the development and welfare of our civil/public servants.

“By prioritizing the growth and empowerment of our workforce, the state government is laying a solid foundation for a prosperous and progressive State. Our civil servants are the backbone of our service. They are the future and conscience of the system, and their dedication and professionalism play a pivotal role in driving the development of our great State.”

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the participants, Igiebor Kester extended sincere appreciation to the state government for the orientation process, noting that each participant is now fully equipped to contribute effectively to their assigned duties.
