Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, Deputy Governor of Edo State, has described the new appointment given to Dr Kweku Tandoh by the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF) as the Chairman of its Youth Committee as a well-deserved honour to a man who has done a lot for sports on the continent.
The ATTF announced on Saturday the appointment of the former Executive Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission as the Chair of its Youth Committee in a letter communicated to Dr Tandoh and signed by its President, Khaled El-Salhy.
“I congratulate my brother and friend, Dr Kweku Tandoh on his appointment as Chairman, Youth Committee, African Table Tennis Federation, ATTF,” Edo Deputy Governor said in a congratulatory message on Saturday
“I must say that Dr Kweku Adedayo Tandoh is one of Nigeria’s best sports administrators who has achieved this height by dint of hard work, consistency and dedication. He is good at what he does and I have no doubt about his capacity to deliver on this new assignment.
“My brother, I urge you to see this appointment as an opportunity for you to enhance the reputation of Nigeria in the international scene, especially in the area of Table-Tennis by providing coordinated leadership for the African youths.
“By this appointment, it shows that your competence and passion for sporting activities have been noticed across the globe. I am proud of you.
“On behalf of the sports-loving people of Edo State, I congratulate you.”
