Following the purported suspension of the National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sylvester Ezeokenwa, the National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara KSM, has stated clearly that Edozie Njoku is not a member of the party.

Mazi Opara, who spoke in reaction to the suspension of top party leaders, stated that after investigation into the registers of the party in Onitsha North and South Local Government Areas as well as his home State, Imo, it has been discovered that he is not a registered member of the party.

Opara further contended that Njoku left APGA on his own volition in 2009, hence has no locus to make any pronouncement in the name of the party.

“Edozie Njoku himself is not a member of APGA because he left the party on his own volition in the year 2009 to another party and up till date we are not aware that he has returned to the party.”

“The Ward Chairmen in Onitsha South and Onitsha North Local Government Areas have also confirmed that he is not a member of the party in his ward.”

“We have put a call to the Imo State Chairman of APGA and he also confirmed that he is not a registered member of APGA,” he said.

Opara recalled that Edozie Njoku had attempted to take actions in his home state under the guise of APGA but was stopped by the Chairman through a Court Order, in which he denied being a member of the party before the Court.
Njoku tried a similar thing in Imo State by trying to lay claim as party leader and the Chairman of Imo State, but APGA went to secured a Court Order and he denied being a member of APGA.

Opara further contended that, “Assuming but not conceding what Edozie Njoku did shows that he is not informed about the workings of the Constitution of APGA, adding that there are laid down processes for the suspension of a member of the party”.

“It starts from the ward level to the local government level and to the National Convention where it would be ratified and all these procedure were not followed and that shows that he is not informed” he said
