Dr. Ezekiel Oyebola Oyemomi, one of the leading contestants for the governorship race under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform in Osun State, has called on Muslims globally, especially those in Osun State to fear God and respect His wishes.
In a statement released weekend by his Ire De Campaign Office in Osogbo, Oyemomi, while admonishing the people to be more tolerant of each other and embrace peace as these are attributes that can lead Nigeria to where it deserves to be, he said Nigerians should give room for unity and imbibed all the Islamic tenets, most especially as its being done during the fasting period.
He noted that irrespective of religious differences, the fact remains that all are one before God.
“God is of love and patience. We should always look into this and make God happy. Whoever makes God happy will definitely make his fellow human beings happy. Besides this, we are all one in unity,” the guber hopeful said.
He stressed further, “We grew up loving and cherishing one another. We have our parents celebrating with others irrespective of their religion. There were no chaos then, why must we now allow religion to create unnecessary gap among us? Why must we close our eyes to the plight of our neighbours? My prayer is that Nigeria, and mostly the State of Osun would be a haven of peace and harmony as we have no other place to call home than Osun.”
Oyemomi, who has started his campaign tour and has so far visited more than 10 local governments in the state, said if elected governor of the state, part of his core agenda, is to ensure that harmony, equity, justice and fair play continue to reign as those are the catalyst that will fast track development.
The APC governorship aspirant is a technocrat in politics and former Federal Permanent Secretary.
He hails from Olugbon Compound, Orile-Owu in Ayedaade Local government of the State.
