As Muslims in Nigeria join their counterparts around the world to celebrate the Eid el-Kabir, the immediate past Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, has called on Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance and love for one another.
Extending his warmest greetings and felicitations to the Muslim community, Dr. Adeniran, an astute educationist and Lawyer in a statement on Wednesday, wished Oyo State residents blessed Eid filled with joy, and peace.
According to him, Eid al-Fitr is a time of great significance and reflection for Muslims worldwide. It is a time of gratitude, forgiveness, and renewed faith.
He commended the Muslim community for their devotion to Governor Seyi Makinde’s reelection, adding that this is a sign that Oyo State has grown beyond religious sentiments.
Dr. Adeniran, who was the Deputy DG, Seyi Makinde’s Campaign Council, emphasized the importance of peace and unity, especially during these challenging times.
He called on Muslims and Nigerians of other faith to offer heart-felt prayers for the State, and by extension the country, while they promote harmony, understanding, and mutual respect.
“This Eid-el-Kabir is a reminder that we are all part of one global community, and it is through love, compassion, and empathy that we can build a more inclusive and prosperous society”, he said.
The legal luminary also highlighted the significance of giving back to society, especially during this festive period.
He encouraged individuals and communities to extend acts of kindness and generosity to those in need.
Dr. Adeniran reiterated his commitment to fostering unity and development in Oyo State.
He however, urged everyone to celebrate responsibly, adhering to the guidelines of the faith.
