Eko Electricity Distribution Company EKEDC has congratulated Christians on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration, which is the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

In a statement signed by its General Manager, Corporate Communications, Mr. Godwin Idemudia, the company described Easter as an expression of God’s immense love to mankind and humanity.

He noted that while the entire world may be challenged by the poignant realities of COVID-19, Easter offers a blessed assurance that the redemptive power of God can transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows.

“No doubt, Easter is a clear reminder of God’s unconditional love for humanity, it comes with the hope of resurrection and establish the sovereign power of God over all lives.

“While this year’s celebration is coming at a time the world is challenged by the sad realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, Easter, however, offers an important reminder that with hope, trust and absolute faith in God, we can overcome every adversity, challenge and difficulty.

“We are greatly inspired by the numerous stories of resilience and courage by survivors, this gives us confidence that this is a war the world will surely win. We, therefore, commend the collective resolve of our esteemed customers and other Nigerians and ask that we all continue to observe social distancing and all other important public health advisory and protocols so that we can keep safe and flatten the pandemic curve in no time,” he added.

Idemudia also used the opportunity to reassure customers of the company’s commitment to sustain its excellent service particularly during the period of lockdown.

He reiterated the company’s support for the proposed two months free electricity by the National Assembly, saying “it is a good idea but cannot be implemented now until details from the government is agreed upon”.

The DISCO’s spokesman, however, implored customers to continue to maximize the numerous digital channels that have been provided by the company for enquiries and resolution of complaints.

He concluded by reassuring customers that the company will continue to do everything possible to meet their demands and provide the needed support for them particularly at this time that many are working remotely from home as a result of the COVID-19 lockdown.
