SUNDAY AKINTOYE
Team Ekiti head coach, Kehinde Anjorin said their qualification for National Sports Festival in football event was God’s intervention.
Anjorin said this after his team walkovered Team Ogun to book a place in the National Festival in football event.
Ekiti who earlier played goalless draw with Team Oyo qualified with four points in the male category of South West Zonal Elimination held in Lagos recently. Anjorin said he went into the spiritual before coming to Lagos and God fulfilled his promise on the team.
“It has been long we have qualified from the South West Zone for the National Sports Festival. Our qualification today (Wednesday) showed God has answered my prayer. We will go back home and start early preparation. Our Governor will also be happy if he knows that we have qualified for the football event,” he said.
Anjorin revealed his team still need to work hard if they want to do well in the sports festival. He said there are some young boys in the team but quickly to mature before the festival.
“We still need to work hard because we cannot compare our team with Team Lagos. I think this is the time we need to go back to drawing board and correct our errors before the festival,” he said
Commenting on the two days zonal elimination, Anjorin commended Lagos State government for providing facilities to make the elimination fantastic. He said the organization, officiating and security at all the centres are superb.
“Lagos has successfully organized the elimination without rancor. We the visiting teams are satisfied with everything put in place for the elimination. For me, I give kudos to Lagos State government for its support to make the elimination a huge success.
