The Chairman of Ekiti State Football Association, Bayo Olanlege has charged all football stakeholders in the state to join hands with the state FA in its efforts to build a football culture and make it a long lasting legacy for the generations to come.

The FA boss expressed unbridled optimism that football can become the panacea for the several socio- economic problems bedeviling the society.

Speaking on the background of the successful kick off of the first ever grassroots football platform created to engage more than 5,000 youths at a time, the Bet9ja Ekiti Football League, Olanlege, remarked that the process of building a sustainable football brand and culture depends on how much the stakeholders want for the game and the future of the youths.

“Today, we have initiated a process. And how far we go, depends solely on how much we want for our youths and our future, ” he began philosophically.

“I am more than convinced that we can use football to engage our young brothers and soon, our sisters. And also, we can use football as a veritable platform to help them become gainfully employed and useful to themselves and their immediate environment,” he enthused confidently.

Continuing, the highly resourceful football administrator, praised the Dr. John Kayode Fayemi-led administration and everyone involved in the developmental processes to rebuild and rebrand football in the state, beginning with the state football league.

“Congratulations to all those who were part of today’s success but I must say, work has just started. I say a big thank you to the genuinely concerned stakeholders, players, coaches, referees, supporters, well wishers, sports journalists and the critics.

“Happy times are here again. And in unity and openness, we can achieve more. And with a strong belief, I say, yes, we can,” he added gleefully.
