Eko Mi Awards 2026: Hamzat, Faleke, NAFDAC, LAMATA, St. Ives, OPay Lead Nominees List

The Eko Mi Awards, one of Lagos’ most anticipated annual recognition events, will hold on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Shell Hall, MUSON Centre, Lagos.Themed “Lagos, Where Legends Are Made”, this year’s edition will honour notable individuals and organisations contributing to the development of Lagos State across different sectors.

Otunba Bestman Nze-Jumbo, CEO of Image Expression and publisher of Eko Mi and Eko E Newspaper, said the awards have, since its debut, recognised notable Nigerians and organisations for their contributions to good governance and humanity.

“This year’s event will be celebrating and recognizing individuals from diverse walks of life who have contributed to the growth and prosperity of Lagos State, cutting across business, public service, politics, entertainment and education; foundational pillars of the society, harmoniously driving economic wealth, cultural identity and civic order,” Nze-Jumbo said.

He added that this year’s honourees have emerged through a rigorous selection process by the awards team.

Mr. Victor Alaba Ganzallo, Head of the Eko Mi Team and Editor-in-Chief of Eko Mi, Eko E Newspaper, also revealed that prominent Nigerians and organisations adding value in different sectors have been shortlisted as recipients in various categories.

They include: Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos State Deputy Governor and APC Governorship Candidate for the 2027 election; Hon. James Abiodun Faleke; Rt. Hon. Mojisola Meranda, Deputy Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly; National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC; Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA; MTN; OPay; Mikano; Vulcanizers’ Association of Nigeria; TVC Journalists’ Hangout and St. Ives’ Hospital Group.

Ganzallo assured that the strictly by-invitation ceremony will feature a glamorous red carpet experience, live performances, and an evening of recognition, celebration and inspiration.

The dress code for the event is legendary style.
