Beatrice Ekweremadu, the wife of former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has been released from a United Kingdom prison and returned to Nigeria.
Beatrice arrived in the country on Tuesday and currently in Abuja.
Beatrice, her husband, and a medical doctor, Obinna Obeta were convicted in 2023 in the United Kingdom for charges concerning organ harvesting and trafficking.
While the former Deputy Senate President was sentenced to 10 years in prison, the wife received a six-year sentence.
The couple had attempted to buy the kidney of a young Nigerian boy for their daughter Sophia.
