Ekwunife Condoles With Hon Dozie Nwankwo As He Buries Father

The lawmaker representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife, PhD, Friday, October 21, 2022, led members of her campaign organization to commiserate the family of Onwuatuegwu-Nwankwo of Enuagu village, Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka LGA on the demise of their patriarch, Mr. Boniface O Nwankwo.

 

Late Mr. Nwankwo, who was otherwise known as Eselu Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, was until his death the father to Hon. Dozie Nwankwo. Hon. Nwankwo is the member representing Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.

The funeral Mass, which was held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Enugwu-Ukwu and celebrated by the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Paulinus Ezeokofar alongside numerous priests, was well attended by personalities from across the country notably the Governor of Anambra State, HE Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, immediate Minister of Transportation and son-in-law of the deceased, HE Rotimi Amaechi, APGA Presidential candidate, Prof Peter Umeadi, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu, HRH Igwe Ralph O. Ekpeh, traditional ruler of Akwaeze, HRH Igwe C. N. Okpala, Archbishop, Province of the Niger, Anglican Bishop of Awka,His Grace, The Most Revd, Dr Alexander Chibuzo Ibezim amongst others.

While delivering the sermon, Bishop Ezeokofar preached on the need for Christians to live well on earth in order to inherit heaven as reward, noting that earthly and heavenly kingdoms exist simultaneously. He reminded the congregation that there is no repentance in death and urged them to always love their neighbours as themselves.

In her condolence message, Ekwunife appreciated God for blessing late Mr. Nwankwo with the gift of longevity, adding that the family has lost a great man with the passing unto glory of the deceased.

 

The Federal lawmaker prayed for the soul of Mr. Nwankwo to find eternal rest in heaven and for God to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation further on behalf of her family and the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District commiserated Hon. Nwankwo and all those affected by the demise.

 

Late Mr. Nwankwo died at the age of 83.

 

Other dignitaries present were Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Uche Okafor, Hon. Chinedu Obidigwe (member representing Anambra East and West Federal constituency), Hon. Pete Ibida, Senator Victor Umeh, Hon. Emeka Eze (PDP candidate for Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal constituency) and Hon. Tony Nwoye.

 

Also present were traditional rulers of different communities, commissioners, and friends and well-wishers of the family.
