The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has congratulated Senator Margery Chuba-Okadigbo on her inauguration as the chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).
Senator Chuba-Okadigbo represented Anambra North Senatorial District from 2011 to 2015. She is the wife of the former Senate President, late Chuba-Okadigbo.
In her congratulatory message, Ekwunife described Senator Chuba-Okadigbo as a consummate administrator with diverse experience in governance and administration. She noted that the appointment was timely and commendable.
The Federal lawmaker urged the experienced lawyer to approach her new responsibilities with utmost honour, professionalism and dedication, adding that she should bring new ideas and fresh perspective in Nigeria’s quest to make the petroleum industry more viable and stimulate economic development.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation further commended members of the 9th National Assembly led by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, PhD, for their legislative efforts in repositioning the oil and gas sector in line with the international best practices.
While extending congratulations to the other constituted board members, Ekwunife charged them to work in synergy to achieve milestones and make Nigerians proud. She reiterated her call for government at all levels to ensure more women inclusiveness in governance in order to foster economic prosperity in the country.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District, I wish my dear sister, Senator Margery Chuba-Okadigbo and other members of the newly inaugurated NNPC Board success as they discharge their duties”, the grassroots-friendly lawmaker concluded.
