Ekwunife Receives Meritorious Award From Anambra State Association Of Town Union

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, Saturday, December 18, 2021, was honoured by the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU). The award was in recognition of her excellent representation and service to humanity.

The award/cultural fiesta which was held at Alex Ekwueme Square was aimed at promoting the rich cultural diversity of different communities in Anambra state. The maiden fiesta graced by dignitaries from across the strata of society had selected individuals recognized for their immeasurable contributions to the development of the society.

Speaking at the event, Ekwunife described cultural fiesta as an important event which promotes peace and revives historical traditional practices. She noted that the event provided a huge opportunity for the younger generation to cherish the deep significance of their custom, culture and traditions.

The federal lawmaker charged government at all levels to keep engaging the traditional institution and community leaders in affairs of governance. She commended the Presidents General for the important roles they play in sustaining the Igbo heritage.

The grassroots-friendly lawmaker who was represented by the Deputy Minority Leader of the state assembly, Hon. Ebele Ejiofor and former Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr Rose Nwankwo appreciated the organizers of the event for honouring her with the award. She noted that she was entertained by the cultural display from different communities and assured of her continuous efforts in attracting impactful dividends of democracy to Anambra state communities.
