The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, on Friday, June 24, 2022, visited several Voter Registration Centres across Anambra Central Senatorial District to encourage continuents who are participating in the registration process.
Ekwunife visited several centres which include, Unizik Auditorium, Alex Ekwueme Square, INEC Office Awka, INEC Office Amawbia, INEC Office Neni, INEC Office Abagana and INEC Office Ukpo. The Senator is expected to visit other centres in the coming days.
The federal lawmaker thanked the staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their efforts and sacrifices towards ensuring that all eligible voters are captured in the ongoing exercise. She encouraged the prospective voters to be patient with the process, saying that voting is a civic responsibility.
“Your vote is your power. I urge you to see this process as one that empowers you to choose your leaders. When the time comes, ensure you vote the right candidate. Do not sell your vote”, Ekwunife said while addressing the registrants.
Senator Ekwunife further commended the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Nkwachukwu Orji for making the registration process in the state flexible. She urged the commission to provide more machines and also do all that is necessary to ensure that every eligible voter who has made himself or herself available for registration is captured.
