The fate of Chief Sunday Udeh, his presidential bid and membership of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, is hanging in the balance following his recent presentation of certificates to factional Council of Ndieze led by Eze Dr Chika Nwokedi.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the BOT and critical stakeholders had resolve that the Council of Ndieze under Igbo Speaking Community must be one under the leadership of Eze James Agbowodike Nwalozie, which Chief Udeh who attended the meeting also accepted.
Thus, the BOT, led by Dr Jonathan Nnaji, directed Chief Udeh to engage and bring the Council of Ndieze he created back to the mainstream of Council of Ndieze led by Eze Nwalozie and he promised to do so.
Days after however, Chief Udeh was captured presenting membership certificate at the palace of Eze Omeogo in Okeafa Ejigbo, where the same Council of Ndieze held a meeting at the weekend and his General Secretary, Engr. Chucks Odimegwu, was also present and witnessed the presentation.
Whereas Udeh was said to have given the BOT the impression and assurance that he will bring back Ndieze led by Eze Nwokedi to the mainstream of Council of Ndieze led by Eze Nwalozie, but it appears to be a mirage.
This may have also ended Chief Udeh’s ambition to contest in the election for the position as the President of the Igbo Speaking community, Lagos State, as he was said to have purchased a form for the position.
He may be viewed to be dividing the Igbo Speaking Community further than uniting them despite efforts he was said to have made to bring the group to the mainstream Council of Ndieze led by Eze Nwalozie.
P.M.EXPRESS findings revealed that the Council of Ndieze led by Eze Nwokedi may have decided to stay on their own and go ahead to form another association, which they had registered at CAC and obtained registration number.
Though they have the right to freedom of association, what is not certain is if they have as well formed their own Igbo Speaking Community and BOT independently to operate as an association.
There has been reactions over the development. Some members of the Igbo Speaking Community regretted that the peace move agreed by the stakeholders may not be achieved if there was no decisive decisions to bring the Igbo Speaking Community together under one leadership including the Council of Ndieze.
Efforts to speak with Chief Udeh proved abortive as the correspondent had wanted to ascertain if he has actually given up on uniting Ndieze and to contest for the presidency of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State.
The BOT is yet to react over the development as efforts to reach their Chairman,  Dr Nnaji, had not been fruitful as the time of filing this report.
Sources said that the BOT, which is planning to conduct election for the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, may apply some drastic measures to ensure a stronger and united leadership is elected in the election coming very soon. One of the decisions is the disqualification of candidates who are not suitable for various positions in the election.
