MAZI EJIMOFOR OPARA
Some of the manifest frustrations fueling the EndSARS protests include:
– ASUU Strike; Many Students are at home idling away
– Unemployment; Their senior folks who have long graduated are also at home idling away. No jobs.
– Hike in Pump price; Our life as a people revolve largely on the petro-economy. Whatever happens to fuel affects our lives.
– Hike in Electricity Tariff; The DISCOs are having a swell time on the people’s pockets. Power distribution may have improved, but there is no commensurate improvement in livelihood to support a price hike.
– Post-COVID19 irritations; Many businesses are yet to recover from the negative effects of COVID-19. Most private schools are owing their Staff in upward of no less than 5months.
– Discontinuation of N-Power for Batch A and B; The social investment program started in 2017 that saw about 500,000 young Nigerians receiving 30k monthly stipend has just ended with no alternative source of stabilizing income.
These are real issues. You can add yours to the list. Truth is, SARS is just a soft target and the easiest preys of an increasing number of predatory youths.
