English Premier League side, Arsenal, is close to completing their first signing of the summer transfer window.

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Arsenal is closing in on a £21.75m move for Bologna defender Aaron Hickey.

The Italian newspaper claimed that a move is now ‘very likely’ for Hickey and that Arsenal has already submitted a bid in the region of £21.75m for the player.

Hickey joined the Serie A club from Hearts when he was just 17.

The Scotland international has made 48 appearances for Bologna already, scoring five times.

Hickey has predictably been compared to Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson, given that he is an attacking left-back.

The 19-year-old already has two caps for his country, despite the competition in full-back areas.
