ESGC/UNISSCA Alumni Announces Homecoming Reunion

The National Executive Committee of the Ekiti State Government College (formerly known as Unity Secondary School) Ado Ekiti, Alumni Association (ESGC/UNISSCA ALUMNI), has formally announced the 2021 edition of its Homecoming reunion. 

The 2021 reunion has the theme :“Celebrating the Past and rebuilding the Future”. According to the National Executive Committee, it is scheduled to hold from 1st October, 2021 to 2nd October, 2021.

This year’s edition of the Homecoming event marks the fourth in the series of every two-year grand reunion event.

Ekiti State Government College (formerly known as Unity Secondary School), Ado Ekiti, was established as one of the nine State Government Model Schools 36 years ago by the then Ondo State Government in September 1985. 

Over the years, the school has produced so many great persons both at home and in the diaspora, who are captains of businesses and industries, top government officials etc. 

The Homecoming event was established as an event for reunion, to celebrate the school, to give back to the school and also inspire the current students on paths to greatness. 

According to the Secretary of the Alumni Association, Mr. Olaniyi Ojo, the Homecoming 2021 from  Friday 1st October by 9am, will begin with arrival of alumni members across the globe alongside invited guests. Equally expected are eminent personalities across the state and government officials, which includes the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the Honourable Commissioner for Education of Ekiti State and other prominent personalities of the Ministry of Education, to a symposium for the students at the school premises and capped up with a variety night traditionally tagged Ale Ojo Yen, a school culture of the old and present students of the school at the Jewel Hotels at Federal Polytechnic Road, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Saturday 2nd October, 2021, will witness the grand event, which includes prize giving to outstanding students and teachers, presentation/donation of gifts to the school and unveiling the proposed alumni multipurpose building at the school premises by 9:30am by the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and the Honourable Commissioner for Education of Ekiti State. 

This will be followed by the Alumni Congress and election of new National Executive Committee. All these will be capped up with a dinner/gala night for alumni members and friends at the Jewel Hotels along the Federal Polytechnic Road, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State by 8pm.
