The founder of online ministry, Jacinth Foundation, Barrister, Evangelist Jacinta Ogbedeloto, has advised the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, to step up move for the release of Miss Leah Sharibu by raising money for the ransom demanded by her Boko Haram captors.
Mrs. Ogbedeloto suggested that as the group had demanded for ransom and threatened to kill her, that CAN should raise money through the churches in Nigeria by opening a centralized account in the bank to save the little girl. She explained that it was obvious that God wanted Christians to pay the ransom for her release.
Ogbedeloto said that the government has not done much for Leah’s release therefore the tasks was now left for CAN to raise the money. She noted that it was the duty of Christians to support the persecuted as enjoined by Jesus Christ.
She advised the youths who were into terrorist activities to repent because Boko Haram members were our people but can destroy us and themselves through terror acts in the society.
She urged Nigerians to pray hard against crime and criminality for a better society. Adding that the government should not keep silent on the issue of religion that brings disagreement between Christians and Muslims as it was not in the best interest of the society.
She appealed to CAN to give signals to churches to open an account to enable Nigerians to pay their widow’s mite for the release of Leah.
On the issue of using the ransom money to purchase arms by Boko Haram, she said it will not happen because God will be in control. She also urged that we should pray for God to intervene to open negotiations with Boko Haram for her release alive.
