On Thursday, 17 May, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company, MTN Nigeria, paid a courtesy visit to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State.

The Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Muhammad Zia Siddiqui; led other top brass of the company including Human Resources Executive, Esther Akinnukawe; Customer Service Executive, Kunle Adebiyi; General Manager, Customer Experience, Kolawole Oyeyemi; and Regional General Manager, East, Obinna Nweje to visit the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba at his office.

Earlier in the day, the team had stopped at the MTN Office in Enugu to engage with the staff.

Following the visit to the Enugu office, the delegation moved to the Princess Alexandra Auditorium in UNN where a packed hall awaited.

Before conversations officially began, several shouts of excitement could be heard across the hall as students reacted gleefully to receiving free airtime on their MTN lines.

In addition to airtime, several other lucky guests were rewarded with gift items ranging from blenders to N5000 worth of Shoprite vouchers.

Mr. Zia Siddiqui eased his conversation into the crowd by joking about lions, cubs and other animals (the students are popularly referred to as lions and lionesses).

Soon the COO was dishing out life lessons and words of inspiration after which he entertained questions from the students.

Photo sessions with executives ensued and the students wrapped up the day by taking selfies with the COO outside of the Auditorium.

The visit was described as an interesting one for both the brand team and the University.
