All arrangements have been concluded for a grand and historic 2025 Ofala Festival of Abacha Ancient Kingdom, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Abacha Mini Stadium, Umuazu Village, Abacha, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The landmark cultural event, which will commence by 11:00 a.m. prompt, will feature the ceremonial outing of the traditional ruler of Abacha, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Godwin Nwabunwanne Odiegwu, Eze Ikendim Abachaleku III, in full royal splendour, in accordance with the age-long customs and traditions of the kingdom.

Speaking ahead of the event, members of the Igwe-in-Council disclosed that elaborate preparations have been put in place to ensure a colourful, peaceful and memorable Ofala celebration befitting the rich cultural heritage of Abacha. They noted that security arrangements, venue preparations, cultural troupes, and reception protocols have all been meticulously coordinated to deliver what promises to be one of the most outstanding Ofala festivals in recent history.

The Ofala Festival, a revered annual institution among the Igbo people, serves as a symbolic reaffirmation of the sacred bond between the monarch, the ancestors and the people. It also provides an opportunity to celebrate unity, identity and continuity of tradition.

The organisers have extended a warm invitation to Ndi Abacha and Ndi Anambra, as well as friends of the kingdom and lovers of Igbo culture from all walks of life, to grace the occasion and share in the joy of this historic celebration.

According to the palace, Ofala Abacha 2025 is expected to attract traditional rulers, political leaders, captains of industry, cultural enthusiasts and dignitaries from within and outside the state, underscoring Abacha’s enduring relevance in the cultural landscape of Anambra State.

The people of Abacha have assured guests of a hospitable reception, rich cultural displays, traditional music and dance, as the ancient kingdom once again showcases its heritage, pride and unity to the world.
