Football administrator, Ex International and respected sports figure, Chikelue Iloenyosi, popularly known as De General, has officially declared his intention to contest for a seat on the Board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), representing the Southeast region in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking in Southeast London, Iloenyosi, who serves as the Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association and the Board of Trustees Chairman of the All Nigeria Football Players Union, made his declaration in a calm but determined tone, outlining his vision for football development in Nigeria.

Addressing stakeholders, fans, and members of the football community both in Anambra State and across the globe, he confirmed his readiness to join the race for the influential board position.

“I am here to let all my fans and stakeholders in football in Anambra State and worldwide know that General Chikelue Iloenyosi is coming out to contest for the NFF Board position representing the Southeast,” he said.

He emphasized his faith in divine direction and sportsmanship spirit, noting that his ambition is driven by service rather than desperation.

“We pray to Almighty God that we succeed. If we win, we give thanks to God. If we don’t win, we still give thanks to God because we are not desperate,” he added.

Iloenyosi further reiterated his commitment to the growth and development of Nigerian football, particularly in the Southeast region, stressing the need for stronger structures, youth development, and improved player welfare.

He concluded by expressing optimism about the future of Nigerian football and called for unity among stakeholders in supporting the sport’s progress.

“God bless you all. We are here to support the growth of football and contribute to development in Nigerian football,” he said.
