The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has paid the month of August salaries of workers in the Local Council before the month’s end.
Some elated workers who spoke with the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Kamaldeen Iyanda Abdulsalam, said the Chairman has proven that he is a man of integrity.
“The Mayor is aware of the pressure on the workers. He is aware of the pressure of inflation in the country caused by the removal of fuel subsidy. He will try his best to put smiles on the faces of the people” he said.
“I also received my salary alert yesterday evening too and I have received several calls from co-workers who were excited to have received theirs too. They commended the council boss for the prompt payment. The Mayor is going to ensure that we can indeed take care of our public service because once we do that, not only would we expect a lot more from them, but the citizens will see the benefit of doing the right thing.”
“Our administration is committed to improving the welfare of workers and the prompt payment of workers’ salaries.”
“The chairman has further addressed some issues that had to do with the environment, welfare, and provision of FREE staff buses among others.”
“We will also be doling out palliative packages in thousands to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal to our people from next week. Our people should be on the lookout for that.”
