On Monday, three persons, Kolade Owolabi (35); Tope Olorunfemi (22) and Isiaka Yusuf, 20, were arraigned at an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly damaging a vehicle belonging to popular Gospel-Tungba maestro, Yinka Ayefele.
The prosecutor, Bankole Olasunkanmi, told the court that the suspects committed the offence on 27 October, at about 7:30 p.m. at the palace of Ewi of Ado-Ekiti.
According to Olasunkanmi, the accused persons conspired among themselves to unlawfully damage the windscreen of a vehicle belonging to Ayefele during his visit to the monarch.
The vehicle, an Hyundai van belonging to Ayefele’s Fresh FM Radio Station was badly vandalised and some of the occupants injured.
In a brief chat with P.M.EXPRESS, Ayefele’s manager, David Ajiboye said that left for the rave musician, he was not interested in pressing charges against the persons but the matter was taken over by the state who felt embarrased that property of a prominent citizen of the state could be attacked and within the precinct of the Ewi Palace in Ado Ekiti, thus the hoodlums have to be docked.
