Expect An Energy Sector With Measurable Renewed Hope Milestones – Says ECN Boss

The message has gone out from the Energy boss, Dr. Mustapha Abdullåhi, of a new Nigeria with redefined vision and a new vista of energy drive that will propel Nigeria to an energy economy with security, growth, and positive development.

The call was made by the Director-General, Dr. Mustapha Abdullåhi, during the maiden edition of the press briefing of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) yesterday, Friday, March 1.

 

It would be recalled that Dr. Abdullåhi was appointed late October 2023 as the new honcho in charge of the lead agency in energy drive of the country.

Dr. Abdullåhi did not mince words in his lay-it-bare submission during the press briefing where he intimated Media Houses that were present at the event. He reiterated his initial commitment, pledged on his assumption of office to redefine Nigeria’s energy wherewithal, give a new direction that is in tune with the Renewed Hope manifesto of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

In his further submission, Dr. Abdullåhi rolled out his plans that centre around leading the agency through a new vision of renewable energy that would take further from her dependence on fossil fuel into eco-friendly green and renewable energy that is less costly, climate friendly, economy-reviving as well as environmental soothing energy pursuits.

“In a couple of years from now, we, as a team, will like to see an energy commission under my leadership that is purpose-driven, determined, and forward-thinking. It is our desire to come up with visible and practicable solutions to the energy sector of the country. We want to use energy to create job opportunities, reduce insecurity, and as well environmental degradation as a result of emissions.” The energy expert further affirms.

Intimating further the media crew who came to his office for the media briefing, the Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) listed some of his targeted milestones which include but not limited to the following;

▫️Work in synergy with other relevant agencies like the National Agency for Science & Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) to create enabling environment for more collaborations geared towards sustainable development.

▫️Begin in-house production of solar energy which will create job opportunities, improve socioeconomic life of the people and help reduce the pressure on FOREX volatility.

▫️Build an energy wherewithal that will help drive revenue generation of Mr. President as contained in the Renewed Hope manifesto.

▪︎ Intensify more efforts at driving the organised private sector towards an energy economy that would see business thrive at reduced cost, efficient and business-friendly energy solution.

Dr. Abdullåhi thanks Nigerians for keeping faith with the new administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He concluded that the current reforms are necessary pains that would guarantee a better future for Nigerians and generations yet to come.
