Notable Group, Egba Lo’Kan Agenda 2027, has strongly dissociated itself from the purported endorsement of a governorship aspirant by the expelled factional members of the group.
In a statement signed by Prof. Yemi Oke, SAN, PhD, FCArb., FCTI  (Bada-Baamofin of Egba land (Otun Ibarapa-Egba)
Convener & Coordinator, Layemi Osanyintola (National Secretary), Olumide Oluwasogo, (National Publicity Secretary), the group said, “Please recall our widely published Press release dated JANUARY 2, 2025 captioned: “Why EGBA LO’KAN AGENDA 2027 GROUP Expelled Factional Elements from Their Midst”.
“Our attention has now been drawn to (social) media reports that the expelled factional Group, which has been holding itself out as “EGBA AGENDA” with a view to extorting unsuspecting political actors, has purportedly endorsed or teamed-up with a certain governorship aspirant with neither paternal nor maternal lineage to Egbaland.”
“We totally dissociate ourselves from the “charade of a misplaced endorsement”.*  EGBA AGENDA will only identify with a Governorship candidate that has his maternal or paternal root traceable to Egbaland. Moreover, our Group wishes to state categorically that it flies in the face of logic, fairness or common-sense to support an aspirant from the same Iperu like the out-going Governor. “
“Please recall that on March 13, 2026 we issued a Press Statement to congratulate a prominent Egba son from a Kemta woman, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (‘YAYI’) on his announcement as the consensus candidate of the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) for the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State.”
“To leave no doubtful impressions, on 13th June, 2026, Senator Adeola (YAYI) was openly and widely received by the entire “OLOGUN-OLOROGUN EGBA” in the house of/led by the Balogun of Egba (Prime Minister of Egbaland), High-Chief Sikirulai Atobatele and other prominent Egba High-Chiefs including Seriki of Egbaland, High-Chief Tosin Fadare, FCA and several others.”
“Our Group is a rainbow coalition formed into a formidable “MOVEMENT” of all willing politicians and politically-conscious stakeholders in Ogun Central for the Ogun State project (OGUN 2027).”
“The Group was formed on the 19th of March 2023, being same day that INEC pronounced out-going Governor Dapo Abiodun winner (for a second term) of the governorship election in Ogun State.”
“Although he (Senator Olamilekan Adeola (‘YAYI’) will be contesting from Ogun West, a zone that had long been marginalized, we EGBA people have largely resolved to stand firmly and solidly behind our son (from our Mother) and deliver the highest votes for him from Ogun Central.”
“Egba people are decent, fair-minded, socially-conscious, highly civilized and globally-exposed people. We are not cheap! We know and stand by what is fair, right and just. We have our minimum expectations in terms of political, socio-cultural, economic and strategic advantages and benefits.”
“As an interest Group, we shall continue to engage in meaningful dialogue with a view to agreeing a Mutual Memorandum for Sustainable Governance in Ogun State (‘MMSG’) to avoid a repeat of past mistakes, particularly the distasteful experience of the Egba people under the out-going administration.
