Eze Chika Nwokedi Empowers 221 Widows, Widowers, Ohanaeze Ndigbo & Igbo Speaking Community

It was an emotional moment as the Chairman of Council of Ezendigbo in Lagos State, Eze Chika Nwokedi, showed  compassion and love to the less privileged on 13th December, 2025 as he shared gift items to 211 widows,  widowers  and members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Igbo Speaking Community.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the event took place at Igbo Buru Otu Association headquarters in Ijegun area of Lagos, where the beneficiaries converged to receive the items.

 

This year’s empowerment by Eze Nwokedi, which is the 4th edition through his Eze Okpoko Foundation, was massive because apart from the widows and widowers, journalists also benefited from the kindness of Eze Nwokedi also known as Eze Okpoko of Obodoukwu town in Imo State.

 

The event was attended by prominent Igbo leaders, men and women including other ethnic groups, who were beneficiaries of Eze Nwokedi’s milk of human kindness.

 

Some of the dignataries who attended the event included the members of Eze Nwokedi’s cabinet members led by his  Prime Minister (Onowu), members of the Igbo Speaking Community and Ohanaeze Ndigbo Ijegun, friends and wellwishers including members of Igbo Buru Otu Association founded by Eze Nwokedi.

 

Some of the items, which Eze Okpoko gave out to the less privileged included bags of rice, cartons of noodles, tubers of yam, ankara wrappers, cash gifts of N25,000 each and other items worth millions of Naira.

 

Eze Okpoko’s thoughtfulness and love for the widows facing neglect and lack in the society received a big boost as he promised to continue to host the widows several times every year.

 

Some of the beneficiaries commended Eze Nwokedi for his philanthropic nature, which he has demonstrated over the years.

 

“He is a father to all and never discriminates between tribes or religion and I pray for God’s blessings and protection upon him and family.” one of the widows stated.

 

Eze Chika Nwokedi, in his remarks,  expressed gratitude to God for life and stated that he feels happy and fulfilled to always bless the widows, widowers, the poor and other less privileged persons in the society as much as he can.

He explained that the charitable act of gifting widows is a programme he observes thrice yearly during the Easter period, August and in December and he had done it for several years.

 

Speaking about the increasing number of widows that benefit from his palliatives yearly, he said this month of December, 2025, has been the largest in count, comprising of widows and widowers.

 

Nwokedi explained that he further  expanded the gesture by including members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Igbo Speaking Community in Ijegun to encourage them for their sacrifices to keep the associations going in the area.

 

He explained that what he is doing is as a result of the covenant he had with God because he asked God to bless him and he will use the blessings to bless the less privileged in the society.

“I love putting smile on people’s faces. As you can see, other ethnic groups are here as widows and they were all given food items and gifts equally because we are all one and share the same blood” he stated.

 

The climax of the event was a powerful prayer by the widows and beneficiaries who prayed for God’s grace and protection of Eze Chika Nwokedi and his family, the buffet food and dance entertainment.
