He explained that the charitable act of gifting widows is a programme he observes thrice yearly during the Easter period, August and in December and he had done it for several years.
Speaking about the increasing number of widows that benefit from his palliatives yearly, he said this month of December 2023 has been the largest in count, comprising of widows and widowers of over 170 persons. He revealed that his pledge to God to always bless people has caused other Ezes who cannot beat him at his game to become jealous.
“When the government gives some Igbo traditional rulers palliatives of any sort, the people do not benefit but I spend my money with assistance from my friends to touch people’s live.”
“Other Igbo leaders should stop fighting me for my goodwill towards the people. I am an Eze and I have the heart of giving, other Ezes should stop fighting me and follow their own paths.”
“I love putting smile on people’s faces. As you can see, both Muslims, Christians, Yorubas, Igbos and Hausas are here as widows and they were all given food items and gifts equally because we are all one and share the same blood” he stated.
