It was an emotional moment at Orile area of Lagos State as two factions of the Igbo Speaking Community united and became one as facilitated by Ezendigbo of Apapa, Apostle Justice Enujuba and President of Igbo Speaking community, Chief Sunday Udeh.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the meeting was attended by prominent Igbo men and women, who unanimously embraced peace and resolved that the Igbo Speaking Community, Apapa, will henceforth be one united body in line with the peace accord reached as facilitated by Eze Enujuba.
Dignitaries who attended the meeting included the President and General Secretary of Igbo Speaking Community, Chief Sunday Udeh and Engr. Chucks Odimegwu and other members of their executives.
Others included the Chairman, Okenze Tochukwu Anadu, Chief Paul Chima, Vice Chairman, Malachy Nwachukwu, General Secretary, Mrs. Ezinne Onuoha, Women leader, Festus Obioma, Chief Damian Umeh among others.
Speaking at the meeting, Chief Sunday Udeh commended the members for taking bold steps to come together as a united group and urged them not to let anyone divide them as they consolidate on the peace initiative.
He explained to them that the Igbo Speaking Community has also embraced peace at the State level as the two factions led by him and Sunday Eze have reached an agreement which they have sent to Court for consent judgment.
He stated once the consent judgment is obtained from the Court, election will be conducted for the position of president, which he had already purchased form to contest and the community will be under one leadership in Lagos State.
Chief Udeh stated that what is important to him is peace in Igbo Speaking Community and the election is secondary. He enjoined all to work together to ensure that the peace is achieved permanently.
Eze Enujuba also thanked the members for embracing peace and promised that he will continue to ensure that there is peace in Apapa and indeed Lagos State because he has always been known as a man of peace.
He expressed delight that he was meeting the two factions under one roof having meeting as brothers and sisters and promised to ensure that the peace will continue.
In the same vein, the Chairman, Mr. Anadu and Chief Umeh thanked the members for accepting to make peace and embraced it and charged them to shun any form of gossip and support the present leadership so that the peace will be consolidated.
They also constituted a 20-man peace and reconciliation committee to be headed by Festus Obioma.
