To foster unity and peace among Igbo leaders and indeed Ndigbo in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State, the Chairman of Council of Ezendigbo, Eze Chika Nwokedi and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ndieze, Eze Lawrence Nnamdi Eze, have concluded plans to form Council of Ndieze and Chiefs in the Local Government Area.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that it was the decision of Eze Lawrence and Eze Nwokedi, which has received the endorsement and support of the Ndigbo in Alimosho Local Government Area.
This was confirmed by Eze Nwokedi and Eze Lawrence, who explained that the purpose of the Council is to build synergy among Igbo leaders in the seven Local Councils in Alimosho Local Government.
The formation of the Council may be in response for the demands  by some Igbo stakeholders that there is need to have one united leadership under one umbrella that will be recognized and be the custodian of Igbo culture and tradition in Lagos State.
It may also be a way of regulating indiscriminate crowning of Ndieze and Chiefs in the Local Councils and to interface with the Government under one umbrella.
The structure of the Council has not been made public as Nwokedi and Lawrence confirmed that there will be an umbrella body that will be championing the culture and tradition of Ndigbo in Alimosho under one leadership.
Membership of the Council will be recognized Ndieze and Chiefs crowned within Alimosho, whose integrity with impeachable character that will not work against the interest of Ndigbo and the host community in Alimosho and indeed Lagos State.
The move may be the new model for regulating the illegal activities of imposters parading themselves as Ezendigbo and Chiefs in Alimosho LG and indeed Lagos State.
