The Chairman of Council of Ndieze, Lagos State, Eze Chika Nwokedi, Ooni of Ife, HRM Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi CFR , the Chairman of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd) and other prominent people have been nominated for prestigious International award in Nigeria.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that awards will be given at the 6th Annual International Convention and Royal Summit by AIDO Network International slated for November 4th 2024 at the Federal Palace Hotel Victoria Island Lagos, while the ‘Excellence Awards’ for prominent individuals in the society locally and internationally will be held on the 9th of November at the same venue.
Apart from Eze Nwokedi, Ooni of Ife and General Marwa, others nominated for the awards included HRH Alh. (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar (CFR ) Etsu Nupe (Royal father the day), HRH. Eze Dr. Cletus Ilomuanya, Chairman Imo State Elders Council, Sen. Uche Ekwunife PhD, CON Director General, South East Governors Forum, AIG Aishatu Abubakar Baju PhD. OON.
Others included, His Excellency, Wendell De Landro, High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Nigeria, HRM Queen Vicky Lextar,, HRH Queen Dr. Hillary Brown, Chief Dion Haynes, Canada Flight Captain, Mr Martin Weightman, Aido Advisory Board Member and others.
Eze Dr. Chika Nwokedi, Ezendigbo Ijegun Ijeododo and Chairman Council of Ndi Eze Igbo Lagos, was recognized for his outstanding contributions, patriotism, philanthropic gestures and excellent leadership.
Eze Nwokedi is well known for his passion and desire to serve humanity as the custodian of Igbo kingship as Ezendigbo fondly calls ‘The Digital Eze’ by many people including media practitioners.
He was former president of Ladipo Auto Market and Founder of Igbo Buru’Otu Association of Nigeria and many associations, which he has used his position to positively touch many lives.
Eze Chika Nwokedi is a philanthropist per excellence; he has catered for over 500 widows, built houses for the less privileged in the society, been paying hospital bills for mothers, the sick and out of school children amongst many other financial obligations fulfilled in the lives of many using personal funds. His leadership style is being emulated by many due to his selfless service to humanity.
Eze Nwokedi demonstrated that he is a man of peace and patriotism by using his leadership acumen and responsibility, during the last General Elections in 2023, by calming brewing tension between ethnic groups. The timely intervention of Eze Nwokedi saved the situation that would have turned bloody, which led him to prominence as a notable figure within the government circles as they praised his level of bravery, leadership excellence and peace making.
The nomination of Eze Chika Nwokedi by AIDO Network International for the ‘Excellence Awards’ will surely spur him to continue to serve humanity.
