Fackson Tofido Football Club would have their hands full when they confront Westerlo Football Academy in the final of Oshorun Saheed Paseda football competition.

The much anticipated closing ceremony would hold tomorrow afternoon by 3pm at the Isheri-Oke, Ojodu Berger, Lagos.

To reach the final stage, Fackson Tofido defeated Tops FC 5-4 on penalties in the semi final after goalless draw at the regulation time.

The match between Westerlo and AD Red Bulls in the second semi final ended in penalty shootout after barren draw at the regulation time.

The officials observed that during the penalty shootout, Red Bulls goalie came out before Westerlo player took his seven penalty kick which he eventually lost.

The official ordered the replay of the penalty kick but Red Bull coach, Ifeanyi Lucky Kpakolum said to have refused his goal keeper to return to goal post.

With this development, Official awarded the game to their opponents, Westerlo.

Chairman Organising Committee, Musa Tijani popularly known as Yaro supported decision of the official saying that Westerlo and Fackson Tofido would play in the final.

“It was unfortunate that the Red Bulls coach stopped his keeper to return to goal post after referee ordered replay.Failure to abide by official decision, I hereby declare Westerlo winners and they would play in final against Fackson Tofido on Monday,”he said.

In his swift reaction, Red Bulls coach,Ifeanyi said the circumstances surrounded the encounter forced him to stop the game.

“I would have continued but for the safety of my players I said we should stop playing. The fans were threatening my boys so I need to call off the game.Of course my keeper came out before the penalty kick and the official called for replay but I objected it because of the tension of the game,”he said.
