Faleke Brings Doctors-On-The-Move For Free Medical Examination, Treatment & Surgeries For Constituents

The whole of Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos State, is buzzing again as the member representing the Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke has brought free medical consultancy and treatment for the residents.

 

The Federal Lawmaker and Secretary of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council is doing this in partnership with an organisation, Doctors On The Move, a group of young Nigerian doctors based abroad but are desirous of giving back to the society.

 

The free medical outreach will run for one week: it began from Monday, 19th December and will be on till Saturday, 24th December, 2022.

 

For all the days of the outreach, doctors will be on ground at all the designated venue from 9am to 5pm daily and residents are expected to go through medical tests to ascertain their illness while they will be treated free of charge.

 

“Those who required serious surgeries will be taken to the Ifako-Ijaye General Hospital for treatment free of charge,” Dr Joseph Haruna Kigbu, team leader of Doctors On The Move told our correspondent.

 

The programme is taking place across the three councils that made up Ikeja Federal Constituency: Ikeja Local Government, Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area and Ojodu Local Council Development Area.

 

“We’re targeting 10,000 beneficiaries for this programme and the aim is to bring healthcare delivery and services closer to the people especially at the grassroots level,” Yomi Mayungbe, Vice Chairman of Ikeja LG and Demola Banjo both who represented Hon Faleke at the opening ceremony said.

 

The outreach is taking place across four centres spread across the Federal Constituency: Ikeja Local Government Secretariat between Monday, 19 and Tuesday, 20 December, 2022; Onigbongbo LCDA Secretariat between Wednesday, 21 December and Thursday, 22 December, 2022; Ogba Oluwole Tarmac for Ojodu LCDA between Friday, 23 December and Saturday, 24 December, 2022; and Ifako Ijaiye General Hospital between Monday, 19 December and Saturday, 24 December, 2022.
