The No 1 friendship beer “33” Export has officially announced special plans to mark the 80th birthday of Afrobeat icon and human rights activist, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

The brand will be joining millions of Nigerians to celebrate the music legacies of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti at Felabration 2018.

Felabration, now in its 20th year, was initiated by Yeni Kuti, Fela’s first child and her brother Femi, as a platform to celebrate their father’s legacy.

This annual music festival runs for a week and attracts guests from around the world who are entertained with a rich display of the Nigerian culture, music and discussions on topical issues affecting society

This year, the event will run from the 15th October to the 21st, at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos and is themed “Overtaking, Overtake”, a line coined from the 1990 Fela hit ODOO – Overtake Don Overtake Overtake.

Popularly known for fostering friendships across the country, 33 Export Lager will continue to deepen friendship ties through engaging activities by encouraging consumers to celebrate amiability and friendship.

The brand is set to create a relaxed environment for friends coming to celebrate Fela through engaging games such as Jenga, Connect Four, Beer Pong and so on, so they can share great moments from the celebration with friends. Nigerians cherish friendship ties and “33” Export aims to create an opportunity to meet its consumers where their interests lie.

Some of the events to look forward to over the course of the 7 day fanfare, include the Fela artwork competition, a school debate, afrobics dance competition, a symposium and a music concert which has attracted the likes of Asa, King Sunny Ade, Lucky Dube, Awilo Longomba, Lagbaja, 2baba and Wizkid in the past.

With people from across the world expected to attend the event, “33” Export is hopeful of leaving a lasting impression on its consumers who will experience the fun and excitement that comes with the festival.

Felabration, like “33” Export, is a big contributor to Nigerian culture and entertainment. The brand’s flagship event, City of Friends, also fuses the best of arts, culture and music.

“33” Export is committed to deepening friendships and will be incorporating some of the games of its friendship parties to this year’s Felabration as it continues to endear itself to Nigerians and cement its place as Nigeria’s number one friendship beer.
