Police Detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, Lagos, have begun investigation on the founder of Zion Prayer Movement Ministry, Prophet Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, over allegation of human ritual inside his church by a female member, Mrs. Salome Onwuka.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident allegedly took place at the church located at Hossan Estate, Ago Okota, Lagos.
The female member of the church, Mrs. Salome Onwuka, alleged that some members of the church buried human beings for ritual purposes inside the church.
Onwuka wrote a petition to the SCID, Yaba and alleged that some aides of the the prophet buried human heads in the church at night and used blocks to cover it. And that she caught them when she went to the church for prayers and listed some members behind the alleged ritual to the Police.
Thus, the Police moved into action, went to the church but were unable to see Prophet Obi but they dropped an invitation letter and asked him to report at the SCID, Yaba, for interrogation over the allegations.
As at the time of this report, Prophet Obi has not reported to the SCID, Yaba, as he was said to have gone to the mountain for prayers in preparation for one week programme slated to hold by next week in the church.
Following the ongoing investigation by the Police, Mrs. Salome claimed that she was invited by the Police to come to the church to show the Police where she claimed that some human heads were buried.
However, when she was sighted around the church, a female church security guard, identified as Blessing Aneto, engaged her in war of words, which led to a fight between them and the Police at Ago Okota Division were contacted. She was arrested and charged before the Isolo Magistrate Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
When she was about to be arraigned,  Mrs. Onwuka told the Court what transpired before she was arrested and brought before the Court for prosecution. She revealed that she lives in Ikorodu and was attending the church before she discovered the alleged ritual at night and decided to report to the Police.
The Church’s Counsel, Barrister Patrick Chukwuma, informed the Court that she wrote a petition and made false allegations. And while the Police were still investigating the matter, she was sighted around the church, where she fought the security guard.
However,  the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, having listened to both parties, released Mrs. Salome to her in-law, who was present in Court, to take her to the hospital for mental evaluation based on the allegations she made against the church. She was also warned her not to go to the Church to avoid breach of public peace.

  • Something I dont understand here. The allegation she made about ritual and burying of human head did the police carry out exhumation in the course of investigation before the alleged fight with the female security guard?
