Female Petrol Filling Station Manager Docked For Allegedly Stealing N6.2m

A 30-year old female petrol filling station manager, Olajobi Damilola, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing the sum of N6.2m from sales belonging to her boss, Chief Abofail Basanjo Ezekiel.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened between 09/02/2025 to 12/03/2025 at Lumodus Petroleum Filling Station at Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Orile Agege area of Lagos State, where the filing station is located.
According to the Police, the suspect was employed as the manager and she started stealing the money gradually to the tune of the said amount that got missing after sales, which led the owner to conduct an internal audit.
During the audit, it was discovered that the money was missing and the suspect, being the manager, was unable to give account of the money.
The matter was reported to the Police at Elere Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged missing money.
After Police interrogation, she was found culpable and consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge reads:
“That you, Olajobi Damilola, where you were the manager of the petrol station located at No. 263, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway Orile Agege, in the Lagos State Magisterial district, did steal the sum of Six Million Two Hundred and Ninety one Thousand Four Hundred and Forty four Naira (6,291,444.00) property of one Chief Abofail Basanjo Ezekiel ‘M’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 7 of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Felicia Okwori, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. H. B. Mogaji, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
